Bail for 269 children in 12 working days in virtual court
A total of 269 children accused in criminal cases have been released on bail in the last 12 working days from the virtual court.
Today, Thursday, the spokesman of the Supreme Court Saifur Rahman said in a statement that in the last 12 working days, a total of 21,461 people, including 269 children, have been released on bail from virtual courts across the country.
He said in a statement that a total of 1,422 people have been released from jail after bail was granted in the lower court and tribunal yesterday.
After hearing a total of 2,738 bail applications, the concerned court and tribunal granted them bail.
A total of 36,981 bail applications have been disposed of during this period, he said.
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain directed the court on emergency cases through the use of information and communication technology during the ongoing lockdown.
